Pastoral Counseling Training

Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)

Welcome to Care and Counseling Center of Georgia!

The Care and Counseling Center of Georgia is a nonprofit, ecumenical organization offering counseling, pastoral care and education to individuals, couples, families and organizations. Care and Counseling is built upon a strong foundation: a union of two established counseling programs formerly known as the Georgia Association for Pastoral Care and The Verdery Center for Pastoral Care and Counseling of the Georgia Baptist Health Care System.

Together these programs have a combined history of over 90 years in the field of Pastoral Counseling and Care. This rich history secures our mission: “to provide healing, wholeness, and hope and to educate others for this service."

Our three main programs include:
Counseling Center: Psychotherapy and Consultation/Find a Therapist
Training for Pastoral Counseling
The Institute for Chaplaincy and Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)

NEW AT CCCG

Care and Counseling Center of Georgia has begun to offer mediation as part of its overall services. Steven Chaim Lindenblatt is a certified Civil and Domestic Mediator here at CCCG. Steven received his J.D. from New York Law School. He is a member of the NY and GA Bar Associations. Steven received his rabbinical ordination from Yeshiva University and has been the rabbi of Congregation Anshi S'fard in Atlanta since 2001. He has worked as a Chaplain for the VA Medical Center in Atlanta. Steven received a degree in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University. He is currently the staff mediator and a resident counselor here at CCCG.

Mediation is a form of negotiations that include an impartial party. That person is called a 3rd party neutral, who is trained to help reach a wise agreement that satisfies the interests of all the parties. Anyone can claim to be a mediator and technically can mediate. There is no official licensure. however, to mediate for the courts indivduals must fulfill a standard. This includes a certain amount of hours of training and observations. They must be be certified by the state of Georgia. At CCCG we require that mediation be done by certified mediators. We want to insure that individuals who are looking to resolve disputes whether civil or domestic have the best opportunity available to them.

For more information on mediation, please visit www.lindcounseling.com, or email Steven Lindenblatt at slindenblatt@cccgeorgia.org.
